Wettinia augusta Poepp. & Endl.: El tronco es muy duro, (…). Después de rajados se utilizan como material de soporte para tejer las hojas de pui ( Lepidocaryum tenue) en la elaboración de techos. También son utilizados en la elaboración de flechas para cazar tigres y otros animales grandes. En general, son buena madera para combustión y como leña para ahumar carnes y pescado. Según un informante Muiname, las hojas aplicadas sobre la cabeza sirven para matar los piojos. (Galeano, G. 1992: Las palmas de la región de Araracuara)
